Brody Collier

When he was a kid, about seven-years-old, he realized that he could go out and “completely knock the crap” out of somebody for the fun of it. That was the beginning of his love for the game of football. Meet 2017 Left Tackle Brody Collier of James Clemens High School in Madison, Alabama. He’s 6’6″, 301 pounds and definitely someone you want on your side of the scrimmage line.brody-collier

Next to the quarterback, the left tackle is one of the most important members of a team’s offense, because he protects the quarterback. Brody first sensed he could really play during spring season going into his junior year. “I realized I was the only one that could do the job because of my size,” says Brody.  His most memorable moment was his first high school game against East Limestone where there were at least a few thousand people in attendance. “It was a lot of pressure on me as a first time starter knowing they were there to watch me but it was a great atmosphere and a moment I will never forget.”

Now in his senior year, he’s preparing for college and there is an even more intense feeling locked away inside of this powerful student athlete. And what will Brody miss most about high school? He says it’s the closeness of everyone around him.  “It’s the best years of your life,” he explains. “That’s where you lay your foundation down for your life. But when you move on to college you lose that closeness. You’re on your own after that and the only person that has your back is yourself.”

We’re sure Brody won’t have to worry about anyone having his back. He’s already gained the attention of some great schools like Georgia State and the University of North Alabama. Scholarship offers are great but the one thing that he says will make his senior year complete would be winning a spot on the map with his brothers before they go their separate ways and start the next chapter of their lives.
