B.J. Higgins: Earning His Stars

 By Joyce Oscar

When we visit blogs like Rivals and 247, we’re most times in awe of the tremendous talent that is displayed. Lightning quick wide receivers, unstoppable running backs and monstrous linebackers are just a few. But where did these phenomenal athletes start? They started with great little league coaches much like the ones that have been coaching 2022 quarterback B.J. Higgins.

In Texas there is no shortage of great athletes and B.J. is one of the best. Holding on to a 3.9 GPA, he has mastered balancing both his academics as well as his athletics. In 2015 B.J. was named MVP of the DMAXX All-American Game in Houston, Texas. He also competed in the 2015/16 Bret Cooper Academic All American Game in Dallas, Texas where he led the West Team to a commanding 49-28 victory over the East.

B.J. was  selected as one of the Nation’s Top Youth Quarterbacks in the Diamond All-Star Game in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and his grind doesn’t stop. He was recently selected to the USA 15U National Team to play quarterback. What a tremendous opportunity for such a young athlete. The games will be held at AT&T Stadium this coming January 2017.
