Georgia Prep Sports Academy Earns Berth in EAC Championship

Georgia Prep Sports Academy isn’t afraid to take on anyone. The Lions often saw themselves this season take on larger programs, sometimes hitting the road to take the field. When they weren’t battling out of conference foes, they were building their resume in route to the East Atlantic Conference championship game.

The 5-5 (5-1) Lions will take on the Alabama Prep Birmingham Panthers for bragging rights to be the best of the best in the EAC.

This will be a rematch, as GPSA tries to avenge their only conference loss of the season. In the second game of the season for the Lions, Alabama Prep Birmingham used a two point conversion to edge out GPSA by one point. The EAC Championship Game is this Sunday at 1pm at Buck Godfrey Stadium in Decatur and promises to be a huge matchup just like the first game.

We talked to GPSA head coach Michael Carson about the big game Sunday and he is very excited to represent the EAC. His players are excited as well, and they hope to bring home the very first EAC Championship!

Coach Carson said that they aren’t necessarily doing anything different to prepare for their biggest game of the season. They’re really trying to work on the basics and fundamentals, while making sure they are executing at a high level.

Stick around for more from Play Book Athlete, as we’ll have you covered through Sunday on GPSA and the EAC Championship!
