  • WHY I GRIND

Hello! My name is Dominic DeLuzio. I am currently 13 years old and in the 7th grade at Pleasant Valley Middle School in Brodheadsville in the Poconos region of Pennsylvania. I have been a standout football player and wrestler for the past ten years. I started playing football and wrestling competitively at the very young age of 4 when I was still in pre-school! My first year of wrestling I was the youngest boy to ever make the Pleasant Valley Bruins Varsity team at 46# and went on to place second in the nationally known tough Lehigh Valley wrestling district XI as a pre-schooler.  I continued to wrestle throughout my elementary athletic career and was super successful traveling to the Eastern Regional Championships, Ohio Tournament of Champions etc and always placing at the top in an extremely nationally competitive league BUT my true love and where I got even more recognition for my ability was football. I believe my years of wrestling helped me tremendously in strength,  speed, balance, technique and aggressiveness on the football field and I am always well conditioned to play the entire game on offense, defense and special teams.

During my elementary football career I was starting running back, kick off/punt returner and linebacker playing the entire game. During the last elementary season my coach had me also playing Quarterback  and wide receiver when needed. I am a versatile player and can play all skilled positions at a high level. I was always happy to play any position in which my coach needed me to fill in order to benefit the team. Each year I was captain of the team and led the team in for rushing yards, touchdowns, tackles and kick off returns for touchdown. It was not uncommon for me to have 3-5 touchdowns per game and ended each season with over 20 TD’s.  I became very well know throughout the Lehigh Valley of Pa for my football abilities and was given the nickname by game announcers and other coaches “Dominator” for my ability to score when the ball was in my hands as well as my hard hitting defense as middle linebacker.
