Georgia Prep DE/OLB Caeleb Washington shows respect to Wood Hayes during Buckeye Nation visit
Legend Woody Hayes
During his 28 seasons as the head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes football program, Hayes’ teams won five national championships (1954, 1957, 1961, 1968, 1970),[1] captured 13 Big Ten Conference titles, and amassed a record of 205–61–10 over the last decade of his coaching tenure at Ohio State.
With the love of the pigskin and the quest for greatness fueling his hustle, OLB Caeleb Washington, of Georgia Prep Sports Academy, aimed for the stars and landed among the college legends. Leaving his pads in the locker-room, Caeleb hit the road this past weekend and headed to Ohio State University to get a feel for the Buckeye Nation. Standing next to the statue of the late great Woody Hayes, Washington was able to appreciate the challenges of the gridiron and embrace the heart and emotion that Coach Hayes poured into his teams. Understanding that the field play is only one side of a student athlete, Caeleb has dedicated and committed himself to the classroom part of the grind. Turning heads on the field and with academic eligibility in the bag, Caeleb will be attracting attention from major programs around the nation as the season progresses.
