In a locker room in Williamsburg, Virginia  fifty plus players put away their blue and white helmets and their Warhill Lions jerseys; it’s the end of the season. Some will prepare for their college football careers and others like 2018 Rodney Hudson Jr. will start their strategies for the next season. We caught up with the K9 of the gridiron who says he doesn’t have any solid scholarship offers yet but he’s working really hard to change that. “For my senior year I plan to work harder than ever, I’m trying to make the all state team! As well as get offers, and I will stop a nothing to do so.”

The 5’11” running back started his athletic journey in third grade and hasn’t looked back since. He’s played a few different positions including quarterback. He also plays corner which he says he likes just as much as running back, which he hopes to play at the collegiate level. But he says there’s still work to do before he gets to that point. Rodney tries to do at least four to five camps each summer to increase his exposure. “Camps are vital to the recruiting process,” he says. “You get to display your talent for coaches.” In addition to hitting the camp scene, he’ll be contacting athletic programs and sending out his highlight film.

Rodney hopes to add a few more schools to the list of those that are already on his radar and showing interest. Some of those are, Ohio, Davidson College, Holy Cross, Denison University, Newport News Apprentice and Farleigh Dickinson University. We look forward to seeing what this college hopeful pulls out next season.
