Troy Hill…Grindin’ on the South Side

Rewind Troy Hill

When looking for great athletic talent, we can’t overlook  Cobb County Georgia with great schools like, Allatoona, North Cobb, Pebblebrook and Wheeler. Also on the Southwest side is South Cobb High School, home to 2017 QB Troy Hill. The Eagles have been playing football since 1952 and have proven to be big competitors to teams in their region. They have been working hard this summer especially Troy. “My main focus this year as team captain and starting quarterback, is to bring my team to the playoffs one game at a time and just bringing everyone together as a whole,” Troy stated.

Although Troy suffered an injury last season, he is doing very well and is looking forward to the upcoming season. He’s especially looking forward to playing against state champions Allatoona High School. “Knowing they’ve won a state championship and to compete, yet alone win, against a really good team like that would be a great accomplishment for my teammates and I.”

Troy has a great arm and tremendous talent. And like all talents it has to be nurtured and that’s just what he has been doing this summer. Although he doesn’t have one particular college on his radar, he has attended the Valdosta State, ONU and Savannah State prospect camps. He has also hit the field at the Nike SPARQ combine, VTO,  VTO Elite 100, USA, and MVP camp. Extra training and exposure is the key and he understands that you have to “grind to shine”. In the end Troy gives credit where credit is due. He says, “I pray and give God honor and glory for letting me be able to play this wonderful game called football.” Continue following Troy Hill’s success here with Play Book
