2023 Defensive Back Jamil Tucker says he loves to compete. A new type of competition is on the horizon for him this coming fall. Jamil will be a freshman at Cardinal Gibbons HS in North Carolina. He says he really excited about this next phase of his life. “I am looking forward to new opportunities, new friendships, and of course high school football,” he said. But with that excitement comes a little bit of sadness. He admits that he will miss playing with his current team a little bit.
Jamil has gotten a little jump on the season by working out with the school’s track coach for the last couple of months as well as introducing himself to the DB position coach at the high school.
His goals for the upcoming season is to not only maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher and further his knowledge in Science, but to also be good enough to start at the DB position his freshman year.
