Rising eighth grader Hayden Conner is one of a few middle school prospects in the country that is getting the attention of college coaches.
Conner has already been to LSU’s Death Valley and surpassed some of the competition that was there, boasting an impressive work ethic.
“I started off with the underclassmen on the first day and as the coaches saw me workout I got moved up with the juniors and seniors,” said Conner. “On the last day I got to do a workout with Les Miles and a couple of other recruits that are D1 bound.”
At 6’5 245 pounds, the talented athlete was confident in his ability to workout with the well-seasoned athletes because he’s always been ahead of the pack.
“I’ve played up two grades since I was in third grade so I was confident that I could workout with the older kids,” Conner said.
The Katy Texas 2021 athlete plays defensive end, left tackle, and tight end but has his eye set on a position in particular at the college level.
“I prefer left tackle,” said Conner. “I’m in between positions and I’m really good at both however in college I would prefer left tackle because you don’t run as much and I’ve been playing that position since I was in second grade so it’s a little bit easier for me.”
The versatile prospect is sure to be a highly sought after recruit. His camp visits include Baylor, Houston, LSU, Rice and Texas A&M.
