At the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) National Security, students have an opportunity to talk directly with national security experts. They also learn about the latest intelligence strategies, and experience public service in action. Willis High School’s Payton Alberts will have this opportunity. “I’m honored to have been selected to add this knowledge and experience to my education and future college resume,” he stated.
Payton was selected based on his strong academic performance. In the program he, and other outstanding high school students, will get an insider’s look at potential career paths, and then put everything they learn into practice in a challenging, hands-on simulation. NYLF National Security students also enjoy exclusive access to government agencies and one-on-one interactions with industry professionals.
The program also includes visits to cultural and historical sites in Washington DC including monuments, memorials, and museums. “My interest in our nations history is strong,” says Payton. “I feel this is an opportunity too good to pass up.”
Payton will be staying 9 days in Washington, DC and has created a Go-Fund Me account to help with his travels. You can learn more about Payton, his education and his athletic abilities by following him on Twitter.
