The first time I saw my son play football he was put in the game as a Nose Guard. Unfortunately, he was probably the smallest kid on the field. Not only did that baffle me, it worried me more.
One thing the Frankfort High Varsity team doesn’t have to worry about is their Center/Nose Guard Tommy Jako. Tommy stands 6’1″ and weighs in at 285 pounds and has the strength to handle his opponents. But it takes more than just brute strength to fight off multiple blockers. It takes tenacity and pride in doing the dirty work and Tommy is not afraid to take on that job. His movement skills combined with his size and strength helps enable him to hold up on the inside.
As a junior Tommy has been attending various prospect camps such has Georgetown College prospect camp, WKU prospect camp, the Underclassman Showcase, Prep Football All-American Camp and the Prestigious 300 camp. He and some of his teammates have picked up a couple of 7 vs 7 games this off-season also. With the season close at hand, Tommy is ready to join his team again and take on whatever challenges their opponents hand out. Follow Tommy’s grind here with The Play Book.
