Shelvin M. Hudson Gives it His All

Shelvin Hudson, is always on the go. He’s from a small town and has a burning goal to break the mentality of being average. He wants to be great, he says. Scrolling through his Twitter timeline you’ll find the quote Put your heart, mind, and soul into even your smallest acts. This is the secret of success”He says that he is willing to give it his all to get to the next level.

The 6’3″, 215 pound athlete from Fayette, Mississippi not only gives his all on the football field, but he also wows his spectators on the basketball court, the baseball field and in track and field events. When we asked Shelvin how he plans to find the time to visit some camps and combines this spring he had this to say: “I been running track and playing football, basketball and baseball basically my whole life. My coaches work around everything for me.”
Shelvin loves being active and being involved with different sports to say the least. He models his mindset after NFL wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who also played multiple sports. He says they each teach him a different fundamental. “I want to go to college and play football so I play several sports because each sports helps me with something that can tie in with football. Basketball helps me move my feet more by shuffling on defense. Baseball helps me with my hand and eye contact with the ball that can help as WR. Track can help my jumping abilities by triple jumping, long jumping, 110m hurdles, and 300m hurdles.”

He has great speed of 4.52 in the 40-yard-dash and holds a GPA of 3.5.  To say it’s hard to keep up with him in the classroom as well as on the football field would probably be an understatement. But staying on top of his grades isn’t a daunting task he says. “With being successful it takes sacrifices,” he says. “So I have to sacrifice hanging out with friends sometimes and study after practice.”

Without self-discipline, success is impossible and I’m certain we’ll see this bright successful athlete at the next level.
