What stands out about Sean Kuhn, other than he’s 6’4″ and 250 pounds? Well his head coach Dan McGuire of the Yorkville High varsity football team says it’s his commitment to be the best. “Sean went to every camp there was this summer to improve as a football player,” he stated. “He and his family had to put a lot of miles on their car this summer!”
Commitment is exactly what it takes to gain success. In addition to attending camps, Sean hit the weight room for sessions with his teammates throughout the summer. Coaches have taken notice and he has already received two scholarship offers. His first coming from Army West Point in July of this year and his second from Valpo in late September.
Sean’s athleticism and size will give him several options in college. He’s a tough competitor and knows how to find the ball. “I think Sean would be a defensive end in a 4-3,” says McGuire. “Or could be an outside linebacker in a 3-4.”
Whatever position he plays or school he chooses, we’re certain Sean will shine.
Coach McGuire’ memorable moment:
“Our team selects captains after each player gives a speech in front of the whole team. Sean is a very quite kid so I was happy to see him get up and give a speech. Sean gave a speech that was very well thought out and showed me his true character.”
