On top of his overwhelming athletics skills and efforts on the field, Philip Fontenot deserves nationwide recognition for his role in a recent life-saving effort for a nearby car accident that drew a group of people suddenly out of the classroom.
Philip, along with a few others, rushed from class upon hearing the emergency news that a car had crashed into nearby Deer Park Creek and that those inside of the automobile were at risk of drowning. Without thought for himself, Philip ran into the creek to help pull a female passenger from the crashed and submerged car so that the group could rejuvenate her and help keep her supported until local security could arrive. Way to go Philip!
It is great to hear that our young and talented athletes, as I am sure that Philip is not the only young defensive end and outside linebacker, who also provides such friendly and personal support for his local neighbors. Take a look at this video with the response from a young man, both quality athlete and citizen, on how he was brave enough to rush onto the scene to help others in need of help in a hurry. Congrats, Philip. We, here at The Playbook Athlete, are very proud of you!
