It’s always good to challenge yourself and compete among other great athletes. 2018 McKay Taylor has done just that in his stint as a Punter/Kicker. As far back as he can remember he has loved baseball and started playing when he was a mere 4-years-old. He loved it so much that he was preparing himself to play baseball at the collegiate level. But something happened his first year of high school. “I began to kick as a freshman and realized that with a lot of hard work and perseverance, he might have a chance to kick in college,” he said. He’s going into his senior year and it looks like that dream might become a reality. His hopes are to impact a team at all levels of the kicking game.
McKay believes that there is always something to learn and has a little advice for young athletes. “The advice that I would give a freshman is to work hard and remain coachable throughout your career,” he says. “I would also challenge them to lead by example as they grow.” He says the young players should be a sponge while watching the veterans practice and play so that they will be great forces in the future.
