Even before he knew the term “Friday Night Lights” J.J. McCarthy knew what his destiny was. “A dream came to me when I first stepped on the field as a first grader. I didn’t wanna just be good, average. I WANT to be great.”
When he was in the first grade, J.J. started his football journey. But when he entered the third grade, he decided to take a different road and play hockey. Although he didn’t play hockey for long and still loves the game, he says that decision helped him realize how much he truly loved football.
“It’s every kid’s dream to play in the NFL,” he says. “It’s in God’s hands to see how far I can go.” With the talent that this young athlete has, he’s certain to go very far. J.J. looks forward to the competition each week and being a part of a brotherhood that will last a lifetime.
