Johnson has Been Training Linemen for Years

If you’re a lineman in need of specialized training, look no further than the Big Man Takeover. Founded by Dwight Johnson, the Big Man Takeover is offered weekly for athletes who want to increase their knowledge and performance of the game on the offense or defensive line.

The former NFL product realized there was a lack of one-on-one training for the big guys up front and wanted to give them an opportunity to enhance their skills.
“I noticed that [sometimes when I go different places] the linemen are pushed to the side and the skill players become the focal point,” Johnson said. “The linemen are working in the mud while the skill players are on the nice turf.”

That revelation led to the Big Man Takeover, which will touch down in Austin, TX at Manor High School May 22. However, those in the metro Atlanta area can take advantage of this as Johnson does the Big Man Takeover weekly on a smaller level.

While the Big Man Takeover is a new venture, Johnson has been training athletes for years, while some have gone on to play at some of the most well-known institutions in the country.
“Some of the guys I’ve trained have gone on to schools such as Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame and Ole Miss,” said Johnson.

Johnson graduated from Baylor and played with the New York Giants, the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles. He carries that attitude of winning into the workforce to motivate his clients.

The former NFL player also harped on three key things that athletes need to have if they want to be recruited.
“They must have a good work-ethic, character and good grades. And you have to be very careful about how you use social media,” said Johnson.
