Most athletes dream of playing at the college level and work hard to earn scholarships. Imagine the feeling of getting an athletic scholarship offer without ever having played a game in high school. Well class of 2020 Running Back Chris Tyree knows the feeling very well. While scrolling through Tyree’s timeline you see a post of a picture that says “Warning…Beware of the High School Freshman”. Beware is right, this rising freshman has already received two scholarship offers. One from Marshall University and the latest coming from Virginia Tech.
He’s been working hard this summer to gain more exposure and better his craft. Clocking in at a speed of 4.5 in the 40 at the NextGen combine held earlier this summer, he earned the Rising Stars award. He says he is determined to reach his goal of hitting the 4.4 mark.
Off to high school he goes in August to reach even higher heights. Although he has those couple of offers already under his belt, Chris’ goal for his first year of high school is to move high quickly on the team’s rotation and ultimately get more scholarship offers.
