WHY IGRIND

In my peewee football, as well as grade school years I was the tallest and chubbiest. There have been some doubters during those early. They would throw out comments like, I wouldn’t be good enough, I wouldn’t be smart enough or not even tough enough to achieve my dreams and aspirations. That has made me want to work even harder to show all the naysayers that I am good enough, smart enough, and tough enough. My father has taught to sift out the positives from the negatives. This has really defined my mantra in life. It was the start for me that truly ignited my engine and made me realize that I shouldn’t do it for the people that say I cant but for the people that say I can and most importantly for myself.

I have always had a dream to play in college as well as get a degree at a college, that fits academically and athletically, in what I so choose to get me to where I need to be in life. This has made me realize that I have to be a leader in everything I participate in, on the field, in the classroom, and even at own home. I have always understood that nothing is given and I have to fight and work for everything. Knowing nothing is given and everything is earned makes me want to excel in both academics and athletics. I truly understand that if I want to go somewhere and be a somebody I need to make my presence known. I do this by helping others, as of community service, volunteering for camps and retreats, and doing the right thing spiritually and ethically.

This is my school’s mission to help others with Character, Faith, and Service. We have a mentorship program with younger kids starting from Kindergarten all the way to the 7th grade, inviting them to our games as well as, providing leadership and guidance. Working hard in the classroom has always been very challenging for me. The progress from the start of my education to the present has shown me how dedicated and how much effort I have put into school. My dreams all start with hard work, toughness, and dedication. From there, I believe I can achieve anything.
