Straight from the Hip with Host Gerald “Boo” Mitchell and Jason Allen

blog-talk-radioSHOW RE-CAP:  The show started with a classic rant from Coach Boo regarding a recent article that he read in which the parent of a 7 year old boy who played football got in a dispute with a youth league football coach regarding the parent’s son getting more playing time.  The parent wound up striking the coach on the jaw as tensions mounted between the two men.  The parent angrily left with his son in tow only to be arrested by the local police soon after he reached his home,  Coach Boo was outraged by the story and posed the question to his audience:  “What is the role of the parent in youth sports today?”  You may be surprised at the opinions of all of the guests on the show.

CONCLUSION:  The show ended with Coach Boo stating his philosophy that there should be three objectives in teaching youth sports:  1. Have Fun  2. Teach Fundamentals  3. WIN..  But if you take care of 1 and 2, then 3 comes relatively easy.
