JaCure’ Jackson’s Bitter Sweet Moments

By Joyce Oscar

With his “Sampson like” locks flowing from his helmet, senior JaCure’ Jackson throws his last pass down the field as the Minor Tigers fight the Ramsey Rams in the 2016 Alabama High School Football Playoff quarter-finals.  JaCure’ stated on his twitter timeline “Tough ending but great year. Thanks for the opportunity & all the memories Minor Football.” The feeling in the locker room was a bitter-sweet moment for him. “Tough leaving locker room after 3rd round loss,” he admits. “Thoughts of what I and we could have done to prevent it killed me.”

Although the battle was cut short and his heart put to the test, it was indeed a great season for this 6’4.5″ powerhouse quarterback. Many Minor fans crowded the stands each week to view the greatness this magnificent team displayed with, what looked like, minimal effort from the crew they refer to as the “HollaAtcha” Boys.  JaCure’ and his Tigers ended the 2016 season 12-2, finishing number 1 in their region and 10th in the State. His individual stats were just as impressive. He holds the number 1 spot on the Max Preps Alabama Football Stat Leaders for his passing yards totaling 3580 averaging 275.4 yards per game and 40 touchdowns.

So what’s next for  JaCure’ now that football season is over? He says he staying in shape by playing basketball, running indoor track and making plans for college. He leaves these words for the new incoming players…“Work hard, be humble and don’t take anything for granted. Play every game like it’s your last game so you won’t have any regrets and appreciate the memories.”
